Trust me....If Webb pitches at least 7 innings on Sunday, he would be foolish to start the All Star game on one dy's rest and be at half effectiveness and Hurdle would be foloish to use him in that manner. It also would raise a lot of hackles with the DBacks and Melvin since the Rockies are chasing us in our division and if Webb were injured even slightly it would help Colorado's chances. There is already friction that Hurdle did not select Melvin to be one of the coaches, especially given that Melvin was voted manager of the year. The DBacks do not want Webb starting and it can only be deleterious to the DBacks and if he does start, I hope Webb gets rocked so Hurdle will be embarrassed for starting him.
Webb starting the All Star game serves no useful purpose for the DBacks but can ruin our chances for winning the division if he strains an oblique or somehow injures himself and then if Colorado ends up winning the division, it will be bad for baseball and reflect badly on the All Star game.
Personally, I've lost all interest in this boring game anyway.
