If the Brewers make the playoffs he will be back, but I would think that when/if they don't make it the following year he would be gone.
Melvin is also not a given to be back if the Brewers aren't able to make a run at things after this year. This is a results based business and regardless of the deals that Melvin has put together over the past couple of years his head could be on the chopping block.
The majority of the success of the Brewers has come from player development (mostly Jack Z's realm) and not free agency/trades (Melvin and Co.). Although no one can say that Melvin has made many bad deals, quite the contrary, at some point you may need a fresh face and Attanasio isn't going to just keep spending money with no results.
