I was 4 minutes before you you thread bumping stealing punk! Don't make me put you in the jdubs, mikey syracuse bumping so you get noticed category.
As for Manny in relief, I think that is an awful move. Dude is 8-2 as a starter. Why is he pitching in relief ? Is there something I don't know, because I usually know eeverything.
well, no doubt I think he will be a good relief or starter. Maybe Yost wants just that. Comfortability in late relief since he hasnt really had great relief this year?
They needed to move Parra because with the acquisition of Sabathia they wanted to get as many starts out of him as possible before the break (two). So they kept Sabathia on schedule and bumped Parra out because they obviously weren't going to start Parra over Sabathia or Sheets. Sheets is due up immediately after Sabathia so it would've been impossible to just bump Parra for a day unless you wanted to also bump Sheets. Parra will now make Jeff Suppan's next scheduled start instead of his own, but will only get one start before the break as opposed to the two he was originally lined up for
The choice was either bump Sheets, Parra, or Sabathia and I don't think it took much thinking on Doug Melvin's part to make the right choice
That is very odd indeed. I am sure that in some small way, the reasoning behind it was that Soup only went 3 innings on Sunday. I am assuming that McClung went out early as I couldn't bear to listen anymore as he couldn't throw the f'ing ball over the plate anymore. So, it is my assumption that he couldn't make it 5 innings. That being said it is kind of understandable but kind of puzzling if you catch my drift.
