concerned about the Rays than they are will to admit. Seems like every chance they get they try and down play the rays success.
I think the Rays have proven they are for real and simply won't fade into the sunset.
There are those that would try and convince you that if the Rays go to the WS it's bad for baseball. I think it' would be fantastic for baseball. It would give smaller market teams that are on the edge incentive to hold onto their key players and aquire players that could possibly take them were they want to go.
I say full steam ahead rays but take it easy on the Angels in the playoffs.

I honestly haven't seen one post that said it would be bad for baseball if the Rays went to the WS. I actaully don't even think the ratings would be that bad due to the curiosity factor. But as far as providing an incentive to smaller market teams to hold onto their players I just don't see it. They will be just like the Marlins but I don't think it would happen in a one shot fire sale like the Marlins did twice. They just won't be able to pay the players that become stars and at the end of the day it's a business and the players follow the money and that's exactly what the Rays players will do. I see a 2-3 year window where everything has to fall in place. And as someone else pointed out on another thread, with a better record will come later picks in the draft so you won't receive the pick of the litter to restock your farm system every year.

....yeah well...to some fans....denial is a river in egypt.......hard to look up in the standings when most of the time has been spent looking down.....
.....what the split between the sox and yanks did.....was benefit the rays who stretched their lead by 1 1/2 games......and hopefully will win the east.....

Where did you get this anology i wonder?
Yankees are more concerned about themselves and getting on the right track than anything else.
If that happens the wins will come no matter who they play.

Be careful, there is another full 81 games to play. And enjoy the run, like I'm enjoying the Brewer's run this season. Then, your division rivals will sign away your talent.
Amazingly, even with the record the Rays have, their city ranks ahead of only Kansas City, Pittsburgh, and the Florida Marlins in attendance.

What are you talking about. Once gain you make up things in your head. Who said the Rays going to the World Series is bad for Baseball? Where are the quotes from any Sox or Yankee down playing the success of the Rays?
