So I read in the paper yesterday that a 6-10 250lb Chicago kid named Goins is almost officially committed and set to play at MD next year. I tried to find some info on the guy and he sounds like a project player, but one that could end up being the prototypical Gary Williams project as he has had in the past. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has any other information on the guy or what you all think about this, though it is clear that we needed a big man to sign so I suppose that's a plus.
I read the same article and did some research but couldn't really come up with much more. Definitely sounds like a project though - I wouldn't expect much this season. Just look at B. Dupree last year and he was much more highly touted. He couldn't even get a shot to the rim in the ACC.
Wow you guys are about 5 days behind on goins.

Oh my god, really! Gosh, you are so smart, you can really get statistics for free on the internet! Of course I've read all that crap you just listed, but I was looking for some actual insight and analysis, not just the numbers listed everywhere on the internet. Hell, kids average that in my old high school, but the day you see one of them in even a D3 school will be the day basketball dies.
