Bitter.
All of a sudden, the poor hapless Devil Rays have become a threat to the mighty Red Sox nation and we get posts like this.
Bitter. And Sad.
I'm not even a Rays fan, couldn't care less, but find this thread hilarious. It reeks of someone so bitter and angry that another team is stealing their hype that they're resorting to comparing traditions and something that obviously isn't a level playing field.
The Rays are 10 years old and have had struggles. The Red Sox are what, 110 years old???? Of course, thy're going to have more than "11 fans" and have more of a compelling list of greatest players.
How the hell do you think a fan becomes a fan? It starts with a winning team. And finally they Rays are winning, so we're seeing a fanbase build up. That's the way it works dumbass Red Sox fans. Do you think when the Sox first started, and if they started losing every year, that they'd immediately pick up tons of fans??? It starts with WINNING.
Bitter.
Face it, the Rays have a better team this year and are beating up the Red Sox, and they're jealous and bitter. The Rays are good for baseball, good for Florida, and good for Tampa, and thank God we're hearing about any team OTHER THAN the Red Sox, Yankees, or Cubs. But you Red Sox fans can't stand it, so you take a cheap and meaningless shot like this. Comparing all-time greats and traditions of a 10 year old franchise vs. a 110 year old franchise.
