"but it didn't take him long to prove he should have been the No. 1 pick in the recent NBA Draft."
you cant prove that you should have been the number one pick after the very first summer league game of your career...

beasley is more nba ready. that should be obvious.

i think beasley WILL be better, but lets wait, oh, 5 years before figuring out who is better.

I agree.  And Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah are hardly beasts in the NBA.  Wait til Beasley faces some tough competition like Garnett, Boozer, Duncan, Stoudemire.  And I want to see him drive in against Yao Ming and Dwight Howard.  He will be singing a whole different tune then.

But there is no denying that Beasley will do well.

beasley driving in on better competition will be much like bryant or wade driving in in better competition.  half the time the shot will fall, the other half he will get fouled.  he's a better player than either D-wade of bryant.  much better in my opinion.  he's 19.  got 20 years in the league if his physique holds up.  micheal jordan's records are soon to be history.  beasley will go down as the greatest player of all time.  i hate micheal beasley, but watching him completely tear my Hawks apart last year made me respect his ability to play.

How come no one is commenting on how Chalmers (2nd round pick) outscores, out assist, and out Defensed Rose #1 pick that is the story not Beasley.  Beasley is going to do that to teams.  But Chalmers came out and is having to prove himself again and handed it to Rose.  As for Beasley against better players that is when he steps out a little further and knocks down some 20 ft jumpers and makes them guard him on the perimeter.  He has the range to shoot NBA 3's and then post you up and then take you on the dribble.  He has all the tools to play with the best.

I don't think it has anything to do with what Beasley will face in the NBA. It's what chicago needed vs what they drafted.

I still think Rose is good, but it's been a long standing Rule that if you have two great players and ones a Big man and the other is a guard. You always go Big. Basketball is dominated by the power forward position. I'm not sure why every one is caught up in the hype of Chris Paul and Deron Williams. There have been plenty of guards like them in the league, but those guards never excel without a low post threat. Chicago biggest weakness has been for the last 4 years the Power Forward position and Paxson ( following the same Method that landed him Tyrus over Aldridge and Ben Wallace over Chandler) chose to pass on another talented Big that would have put Chicago in the conference finals in the next 3 years. If chicago needed a leader that bad. GO sign Eric Snow, or Aaron Mckie, or Anthony Johnson or something. There are plenty of leaders and locker room guys sitting the bench across the league.

This year is going to look really bad for Paxson. Regardless of what Rose averages.

I agree artmac.

Chicago did nothing to distinguish themselves in the draft, despite owning the top pick.  Rose might be saying all the right things and is a stand-up guy but passing Beasley by could turn out to be a defining moment for the Bulls in the next few years.  Any time a team lets the fans determine the best choice for the draft pick, you've got a problem.  I guarantee those same fans would have come to watch Beasley play just as easily as Rose... winning tends to do that.  Their above mentioned moves with Tyrus Thomas and Ben Wallace don't bode well for the Bulls.   Should be interesting to watch.  Good luck to Rose no matter what happens.  I hope he does really well.

KUGOMER...if you really believe that Beasley is "a better player than either D-wade or bryant.  much better in my opinion", then you are dumber than every other person on sportsline.  Much dumber in my opinion.  You're an idiot for even putting that post up, if thats really what you think then you should just keep it to yourself all it does is make you look like a moron.  He'll play 20 years and MJ's reco
