Well Reds fans, whatever slim, deluded, or moronically hopeful chances we thought we might have had to make a run this year have officially come to an end today.

1) Aaron Harang, for whatever reason, looks like he is going to be flat out awful this year for whatever reason. Coaching, the Padres debacle, heart, run support, Cthulu...whatever. He's our ace, without him, forget it.

2) The Rich Harden trade (plus CC Sabathia). Even if Harang had his stuff goingm these two trades make it close to impossible to gain enough ground in our current situation.

3) It has become painfully obvious, the coaching on this Reds team is deplorable. The lineups, the adjustments, the simple coaching is garbage.

4) And he have shown it in the past, but there it is in beautiful Hi-definition today, this team cannot hit to save its life. 2 hits against Ryan Dempster. Remember him? He used to play for us.....as a crap reliever. Now he'll have 10 W's going into the A-S break. Oh yeah, so will Kyle Lohse. Wait, wasnt this paragraph about hitting?

I really am flat out crushed by today. Crushed. I will always be a Reds fan but after today. For this year. There will be no rushing home from work to catch 1st pitch. There will be no more message board time spent. I just cant do it. I think I mightve said something to this effect at another point in the season, but today has thoroughly crushed me. Good talking to you guys. But I just cant abuse myself anymore. Dusty, Corey, Brooke, and Dick.....I hope you are happy. You have ruined my 2008 baseball season.

I have never seen a team with so much offensive talent underachieve like this club does.  You know we have a problem when Harriston is are most consistent guy from the plate. I can not  stand to watch Dunn on more night look at 2 hittable pitches and then strikeout on a breaking ball in the dirt.  If the light does not come on soon we are looking towards football season a little earlier than usual this year.

i agree with your statement:  that the Coaching on this team is deplorable;;  and Can i add:  despicable, holes--and holey, selfish, Brainless, old and washed-up, like no one else would want 'em---Pathetic, and most of ALL---IGNORANT---all the M. & Coaches S-- --except BHATCHER...  seriously--ourREDS are pretty darn good goin'from 1st-to-2nd!!

so really---if they play Patterson & Bako much more(and there's something else Dusty does that i really, really, Hate---b/ it shows his Favoritism), ---they'll lose alot of fans--Ticket Sales---and alot of games---despite all of the talent...  weREDS have talent---there just isn't alot of GOOD MANAGERS out there!!!

It's a team in transition, there's no doubt about it.  It's a bad mix of youth and vets with what appears to be no chemistry.  Another big problem is too many guys with the same skill sets.  I think that's one of the main things that got Krivsky booted.  The guy did bring some serious talent here, there's really no denying that.  But, he he had some awful contracts (Patterson, Ross, Coffey, etc.) and the team is just akward as hell with too many swing-and-miss lefties.

Also, no clutch hitting, that light appears to be VERY far down the tunnel.  I dunno, we have some great young players, but the brass is just waiting for 2008 to end, and several contracts with it.  So yeah, sorry but wait til next year.  Let 'em all go, use the cash to grab the best right handed hitter that will come here.  This team needs balance and guys who want to win as much as we want them to.
