what an idiot  he had a chance to got to SAN ANTONIO and be on a winning team which he has not been on in the pros and he goes for the most money..there's a reason he has never won while in the pros GOLDEN STATE  stunk with davis and will stink without him ..and nice move baron going to Clippers and now brand has jumped ship too..lol..

He had San Antonio , Boston and Detroit all looking to sign him along with Orlando, going to any of those four teams would of gave him a shot at pursuing a championship, instead he took the money and ran.

With Baron Davis leaving GS and Maggette coming in, it does not make GS any better. Along with Davis going to the Clippers and Brand and Maggette leaving them it didn't make them any better.

It looks like the Clippers and Warriors will be in the exact same position if not a little worst off then they were this season.

The Warriors were the best team to not make the playoffs....EVER, and were the only team...EVER to beat a number 1 seed in a 7 game series in '07. I wouldn't exactly say they stunk the last couple seasons. However, this deal in no way makes them championship contenders. They could still use one more big guy. This deal does fill the void left by Baron, and could make him second guess his decision to leave GS.

San Antonio was the clear favorite.

A couple of other teams were after him, but most experts assumed that he would go to san antonio as that was the team that fit him perfectly.

Alas

Getting money to be on a team that might be the 8-10th best team in the West was his first choice.

I feel bad for all those LA fans who had to put up with his non-stop whining about wanting to be on a winner.

Winning is secondary to getting paid.  I don't have a problem with that, but the athletes should just admit it.

Unforgven,

I was always taught not to use too big of words that I didn't fully understand !! You use words like idiot, stunk and stink with moronic abandon. Seems to me that your favorite team didn't get better after being spurned by Maggette. You almost sound like another "won't let it go" Mavs fan!

In any case, the W's got way better and aren't even remotely done dealing yet in this still early off season! Look for them to deal someone (and they have alot of young talent to deal) somewhere and get a solid point guard and return to the playoffs this coming season!

I do agree that Baron has to be shaking his head right now and is second guessing himself. I see an injury plagued season ahead for B-Diddy with lots of contact with Hollywood!

I fully agree I mean I know he got more money from the Warriors but don't you at some point want to win and with the Spurs he would have been the perfect fit he's a slasher scorer which the Spurs could use especially a young set of legs like he has as well, it just shows ya that players sometimes go for the money and not for the ring which is a shame.

Brand left a western conference team to an eastern conference team that made the playoffs with less talent than it has now. He'll also be the star of the team along with Andre, whereas in San Antonio he would have been just another piece. Doesn't sound like he's a idiot to me.
