Despite being on the losing end both games, this has been a great series so far. The Twins had chances to win both but Boston did what they needed. Last night's game was a toughie and a bit hard to accept but that's the sign of an exciting game. Win or lose, this is baseball I like to watch, especially the 1-0 nail biter.

Good baseball, agreed.

Although, once again I have to question why managers are so quick to pull their starters.  Blackburn was strong and in command, and had just 85 pitches thrown when Gardy pulled him.  Is it a crime to let a starting pitcher throw 110 pitches?  Granted, the Twins bullpen is among the tops in the league, but if a guys got his stuff that night, why make a change and give the hitters a fresh look?

Blackburn has had several starts where he could have gone 9 if Gardy wasn't so quick to do the Guerrier/Nathan bait and switch.  While its worked so far (until yesterday), I think Blackburn deserves a shot to finish what he started.  Especially in a place like Boston or NY, where a CG would be memorable and a defining game pitched for his season.

The Twins have played well in Boston but they're a bit over rated right now.  Those two losses are tough to take with how close the games have been.  We've had 10 more home games than away games so are record will likely get worse before getting better and we're seeing that with losing the first two in Boston.

Today we get Beckett and then go to Detroit for 3 games.  It doesn't get any easier.

I agree Gardy may have been quick to pull Blackburn.  I think the bigger question is, where was Crain.  During Manny's slump, he has had trouble getting the high fastball.  Crain's upper 90's heat may have gotten him.
