Sorry if the last several NCSA rankings put Iowa ahead of MSU academically. I'll give you Basketball but otherwise your just a poor cousin of the folks in Ann Arbor

Why would any fan of a team that lost in a "preseason" game come and say that about Iowa?  Have you ever been to Iowa City you lumphead?  I have never been to Lansing, but then again, I am not the one saying what you are.

Let's see, we lose our stud scorer to the NBA, then our second scorer goes back home to be near his Dad who is dying in Tennessee...leaving us with not a lot of depth.   No one would expect our team to have a final four season with these circumstances, but if Iowa can get to a .500 or even close this year, I will be totally happy.

Wow, I am just amazed at the capacity of idiots these message boards attract, I wonder if we can institute some sort of test for posters...first question:  A. Do you have a brain?  B. Does your brain work?  C. If you answered yes to B, then can you prove it.

Too bad the message creator couldn't pass the test.

By the way, Captain and Tenille - Here is an excerpt from the football side, we will check back on basketball:

The Academic All-America first team honorees from the Big Ten included Illinois' Ryan McDonald, Indiana's Austin Starr, Iowa's Mike Klinkenborg and Adam Shada, Ohio State's Brian Robiskie and Penn State's Gerald Cadogan.  Second team honors went to Illinois' J Leman and Purdue's Jared Armstrong.  Klinkenborg and Shada earned their second consecutive first-team accolades after being honored last season.

Looks like we do all right in academics to me...even overall schools:

According to USNews, Iowa ranks 64; Michigan State ranks 71 in National Universities Top Schools and in academics.  Do your research first pal.

Hey Hawkeye,

Here's one for you to check out...

Last I heard (this is from a real report, I just do not remember where I saw it), State was rated the #1 party school in the nation.

How's that for something to brag about when talking academic achievements, eh?

GO STATE!

cheecat1,

Just for the record, that school down the road is not our cousins. They are our little sisters.

GO STATE!
