i played out the rest of the WAC season, and this is what i came up with...

1. Nevada (12-4) [I have them winning all their remaining WAC games]

2. Boise State (12-4) [i have them losing at Hawaii]

3. New Mexico State (12-4) [i have them losing at Nevada]

4. Utah State (12-4) [I have them losing at Boise State]

5. Hawaii (11-5) [i have them losing at NMSU]

6. San Jose State (5-11) [i have them beating Idaho and La Tech]

7. Fresno State (4-12) [i have them losing all their remaining games]

8. Idaho (3-13) [i have them losing all their remaining games]

9. Louisiana Tech (1-15) [i have them losing all their remaining games]

[ALL 4 teams would end up going 3-3 against EACH OTHER...but Nevada will be the #1 seed because they would be the only of the 4 to sweep Hawaii...Boise State will be #2 because they swept Nevada...and NMSU will be #3 because they swept Boise State]

if this DOES happen, it sure would be historic!

well well well, with Utah St. losing yet AGAIN on the road, Hawaii's a thin half-game short under them!  There's also a good chance that there will be a 3 way tie for 1st (top 3) then a tie for 4th (Hawaii/USU)

But the WAC has proved to be very WACky...still EASILY a 5-way race for first if you ask me!

Odd as it may seem - you could also see the same sort of scenario with Hawai'i as one of the co-champions. Indeed they are uniquely positioned to do so as they could give both BSU and NMSU their fourth loses. So working out from their

Hawaii 12-4  (wins all remaining WAC games)
Boise St 12-4 (lose to Hawaii)
Nevada 12-4 (loses to NMSU)
NMSU 11-5 (lose to Hawaii, Nevada)
Utah State 11-5 (lose to BSU) (the lose to SJSU ruins the 4 way tie scenario)

While most of this is reasonable, the big "if" would seem to be Hawaii going into Las Cruces and winning.

oops, scratch the Nevada loss for NMSU - they can't lose to each other - but the records are correct
