There is no way they should get in after the way they played. I am a very big fan of ISU but realistically they do not belong, yet. I fear should they do get in they will embarrass themselves worse. ISU just does not have a go-to guy. Eldridge can be that guy but right now he can't do it all himself.

It was very frustrating watching some of the open & close shots not going in. The game would have been so much closer had they just made a couple of them. It's not like they were all over them, they just couldn't hit anything. The tournament is only going to be worse.

On the other hand, maybe they were starting to become over-confident and this could be their wake up call. I hope that is the case. That way they could become a very dangerous team in the tournament. There defense, when everyone is on the same page, is really a great one. They remind me of the Illini from last year. They had a chance last year but had nobody to slam the door shut. This is the same type of team. I hope they do get in because I want to see how they respond. Hopefully, they regroup & make a nice run of it. What a nerve-wracking week this will be.

Drake played a perfect game, and ISU played a terrible game.  Drake's a good team that will go to the sweet sixteen at least.  It is just unfortunate that we lost by 30 pts. and that we lost the other 2 meetings.

If we do make it, it will be a close game (unless we play someone like Kansas).  The previous worst loss of the season was 13 by Indiana.  Drake is a hard team to match up with, and they exposed us, but I don't see many other teams doing that to us.

This team is hungry, and if they are given a second chance, they will play twice as hard.  Their defense was around 12th in the nation before "that game".  When you look at the first 32 games, we seem deserving of a bid, but when you look at Sunday's game, we look like we don't belong.  Only time will tell.

P.S.    The loser of the valley championship game has made it to the sweet sixteen the past 2 years (Bradley 06,  SIU 07).  Maybe that will give us a little hope.  But we have to make it to the NCAA tourney first.
