You will never say the "S" word on these boards ever again.

if you don't know what word I am talking about..it ends with oids.

so if you love the game..and are over the S word..

reply with "the season has started..lets talk BASEBALL" or something along those lines.

Really not bad. Should be

  1. Skip Schumaker
  2. Chris Duncan
  3. Albert Pujols
  4. Rick Ankiel
  5. Troy Glaus
  6. Yadier Molina
  7. Adam Kennedy
  8. Pitcher
  9. Cesar Izturis

This the lineup that I think it should be.

  1. Colby Rasmus
  2. Brian Barton
  3. Albert Pujols
  4. Rick Ankiel
  5. Troy Glaus
  6. Yadier Molina
  7. Cesar Izturis
  8. P
  9. Brendan Ryan

Thanx Cowboy. Yea I seen your little rant about La Russa and the Vets. I was hoping Rasmus would make the team because I drafted him in the last round of my NL only league.

Who's your back up Shortstop because Cesar Izturis is not very good.

Brendan Ryan is the backup.

And Rick Ankiel should be a safe pickup batting in between Albert Pujols and Troy Glaus.

Yea I'm expecting a big year out of Rick Ankiel, I was just a little too late of picking him up.

Rasmus shouldn't hit leadoff yet, to much pressure on a guy that's only 20.

Should be:
1. Skip Schumaker
2. Brian Barton
3. Albert Pujols
4. Troy Glaus
5. Rick Ankiel
6. Yadier Molina
7. Adam Kennedy
8. P
9. Brendan Ryan

Only problem is the 2 guys hitting before Pujols have never started in the Majors before.

I would like to see Glaus hit behing Pujols, but Ankiel will hit bbettor for average.

I disagree. The leadoff position is the perfect slot for Rasmus. Age shouldn't matter when the skills he poses are present. He is everything you want in a leadoff guy, speed, disciplined bat that rarely misses contact, and a little bit of pop.

But La Russa has been batting Ankiel behind Pujols more lately and I think that is because he wants a guy that is going to have a little bit better of an average behind Poo than Troy Glaus would. Both Troy and Rick have a good amount of pop to clear the bases, but you would not want Glaus slowing Rick down on the bases.

8. Pitcher
9. Cesar Izturis

If i recall correctly, a long time ago (about 7 or 8 years ago) Larussa actually did bat the pitcher 8th. I feel like it was either Donovan Osborne or Todd Stottlemyre, but i do remember he did it once.

Yeah he made the decision to go with that last year and stuck with it till the end. I liked it because shortly after that shakeup, the offense started coming alive...well it was resuscitated to say the least.
