UNC should prepare to accept 60 points, take it and run.  UNC will win, but they'll remember the pain.  UNC could have won both of their games so far even without Hansbrough, but Hansbrough's value will never be more evident than this one.  It's going to be a beautifully ugly game.

Hats off to WSU and Tony Bennett (answer the phone when IU calls...please!)

and......? They've never play washington st this season either. UNC doesn't score more than 70 points guaranteed. In fact, they might even be able to pull off the upset...I don't see Hansbrough having a big game with Aaron Baynes on him

I've had a front row seat for all the WSU home games this year and I will be surprised if Baynes doesn't foul out or at least get into foul trouble. Hansbrough has been very good at drawing fouls this year and Baynes has been very good at fouling. I really really hope that I'm wrong on this but I'm thinking that it will be up to Cowgill and Harmling to limit Hansbrough's production.

Brockman, Anderson, Lopez*2, Love...

Baynes has had good practice fouling/guarding productive bigs all season.  It'll pay dividends tommorrow.

I'm taking the points and the under...

Bennett will likely stay at WAZZU until the Wisconsin job opens up. Which could be in about 4 to 6 years after ................ retires. (sorry can't think of his name right now) At least that's the opinion of some who have been watching this program closely.

Which could be in about 4 to 6 years after ................ retires. That would be Bo Ryan.  And I don't think it will be only 6 years until Bo retires, he's got plenty of years left and no one is going to force him out.  But even if Bennett does leave Wazzu before then he'll still leave whatever job he has for the Wiscnosin one.  He's hinted several times that Wisconsin is his dream job, and I believe that he has Wisconsin in his contract as the only school that he can leave for no questions or money involved.

Tony Bennett will take the IU job if they offer it to him.  He would stand to not only double his salary, but also be at a basketball first school in the Big Ten conference.  Wisconsin may come calling later, but at that time it will depend on Bennett's situation.  Bob Knight was a Buckeye, but he never took over at OSU which goes to show that just because it may be his dream job doesn't mean that he will bolt when they come calling.

Last summer I spoke with a former teamate of Tony's from the UWGB days who still talks to him regularly on the phone.

I asked at the time about the minny job, and he said tony wasn't all that fired up about leaving state because it is a such a low stress job.  No boosters to meet with after every game,  no pressure to try and make the game more exciting( ie pressure to get off the motion offense).  Granted this was last summer and people can talk themselves into lots of things and change their minds easy enough.

as far as Indiana, do you really think they would accept the motion offense there?  I don't see it happening.  Thats what the Bennett clan runs, it depends what is more important i guess... winning or playing the "fun" style to watch.

Craptastic,

Indiana had a fair amount of success running the motion offense under a coach named Bob Knight, you may have heard of him. So I don't think that's an issue. Actually you demonstrate your general ignorance of college basketball in asking if Indiana would 'accept' the motion offense when IU is one of the schools at which the motion offense came to popularity. I speak for innumerable IU fans when I say that style of play is much less important than winning and winning clean (see Sampson incident). If Tony Bennett becomes the IU coach and wins clean, and generally conducts himself with the class he and his father show, style of play will be utterly unimportant.

This is an awful "homer" of a post!

I admit I haven't seen Wash U play all season (I live in the East and the games aren't televised), but to think that Wash U can keep UNC to 60 pts is absurd. Sure, they'll slow it down, etc., etc., but you gotta watch how UNC plays! The question is: can WSU keep up? I say it's a blowout!

Give the Cougars their due for making the Sweet 16, but...

Different teams and different players but in 2005 the Badgers were holding teams to 60 points a game and NC put up 88. I'm pulling for the upset (Tony pulled it off as a player against Cal and I'm sure he'll remind his players of that) but I think NC will be able to put up at least 75.

Yeah, umm, UW put up 83 that game, too. What does that have to do with anything?

Thank you for admitting you don't know what your talking about, flaming the post author, then proving you don't know what your talking about.

Please, it's Washington State University, or WSU, or WAZZU, not Wash U. Wash U. is in St. Louis not the NCAA tournament. Why do you feel the need to post like you know something, when you make it so clear that everything your writing is pure conjecture based on little or no information.
