This "image" is what upsets you??? Not when young black athletes show up in public, or on magazines looking like thugs and Gangsters???? (rememeber you said silence is complicity) Wow, you are so missing the boat. Incidentally I am 40, and I still look at it as we are making progress a young black man in on the cover of a magazine I thought I would never see. Thats awesome, and if you get past the cover there is some really cool pictures and content. Why does it have to be about race, oh I remember because that gives you the power. I teach my son to admire individuals by their accomplishments and actions, and leave race out of it. My son equally admirers Lebron, Tiger, Payton, A-Rod. I think more and more of the younger generation are doing this (look at jersey sales) if only the older generation could get past themselves and embrace all people, and not look for offense at every turn.
