A big portion of coaches have stated that, but when it comes right down to it; money talks. And especially if a big named program calls you and wants you that bad.

Indiana University isn't that far away; come over and have a chat.

Anyways, back to the game scenario with "X" and UCLA.

Who needs McDonald's All-Americans? If you have a well rounded team as does Xavier with Duncan, Anderson, etc. and with the great coach as Miller; you get things done.

If I was Love, I'd remember Xavier's name.

People like Dodd put way too much emphasis on McDonald's All-Americans.  Go to the McDonald's All-Americans website and check the list of alumni.  Not only did a sizable number not make the pros, but many others didn't do anything even in college.  In the last two decades, without any high-profile recruits, Xavier still has had several players make the NBA:  Tyrone Hill, Derek Strong, Aaron Williams, Brian Grant, David West, maybe a few others.

James Posey (Nuggets, Rockets, Grizz, Heat -NBA Title, Celtics - future NBA Title) and Torraye Braggs (Jazz, Rockets, Wizards) have had respectable NBA careers as well. And as for Sean leaving, I just don't see why he would. Why go to LSU? Sure it's in a "power conference", but Xavier currently has a better program, he's getting 7 figures, an incredible recruiting class coming in, and all the job security he could want. As for the Hoosiers, Indiana is close to home and historically one of the most storied programs in history, but again, i think the potential for success is greater at Xavier right now. Indiana has too many clouds overhead and to much uncertainty (a dishonest image is never good for recruiting) in the near future for Miller to leave a solid program that's still on the rise. I'll start worrying when the Pitt job opens up.

Indiana does not historically pay out the ying yang. Look at X's money situation in forbes top 25 money programs for this year. The only job that Miller will probably take is Pitt. I think he wants to build a  program to the top....not rent a great team/win the championship/and suck the next year....yes I'm looking at you thad matta. Oh wait Thu OSU  didn't win it all last year

Miller is 39 and signed a very long term contract recently. The money is there now and even more will be there in the future. Another couple years with continued success and I could see it happen but I just don't know what job would have to be available to tempt him out of X. He's got a decent class coming in and will be returning some good players. Matta didn't really want to re-build which is basically what Miller will be doing next year. I don't think Miller minds and he seems like a much more upstanding guy than Matta so I expect him to be here until 2010. If they consistently make it to the Sweet 16 then he'll likely leave in a couple years.

IU administration would be even bigger fools than they already are if they don't pursue Miller and/or Tony Bennett with vigor.  Both are young, solid individuals, and both will bring success for the long term.  I think Miller is the best fit.

It will be telling of how far IU has dropped off the radar as a "dream" job if one or the other declines.  I have my own own ideas of how telling, but that would mean Miller stays at Xavier and Bennett stays at WSU.  I hope I am wrong.
