Care to take a mulligan on this prediction?
Anaheim was the most penalized team in the NHL this year, and they didn't learn any lessons from games 1 and 2. You can't put any team on the power play as often as Anaheim did and expect to win.
The bottom line: Turco outplayed Giguerre, Dallas' three ROOKIE defensemen outplayed Anaheim's defensemen, and Dallas scored goals and Anaheim would probably have had trouble scoring on an empty net.
Here's a question for all you Ducks fans: will they be so dumb as to bring Bertuzzi back? I thought he was great when he was in Vancouver, but after his 1 year suspension he just doesn't have it any more.
Anaheim needs some scoring, and somebody needs to let them know that if your PK isn't all so great then it's probably a dumb idea to let a team with a PP in the top half of the NHL go on the job that often. Actually, I think Anaheim fixed what was wrong with their PK after game 2. It's like they suddenly realized that Zubov wasn't leading the Dallas PP so they attacjked Dallas at the line and gave the Stars fits trying to get the puck in the zone, much less actually setting up shop in the offensive end.
Of course, once they got the PK fixed their lack of scoring stood out like a sore thumb.
