So Trent Plaisted puts his name in the NBA draft, but has not hired an agent and can back out if he chooses to.

Forget what the impact to the team would be if he left, but I for one think it would be a mistake for him to leave now. Granted, he has size, but I think he is still too inconsistent to be considered a serious first round pick. Then add in the fact that most of the talented underclassmen have already declared for the draft, his chance for guaranteed money do not seem good.

Maybe his stock could rise before then, but if he is looking to be a first-round pick, I think his best bet is to come back for his senior season and improve some more.

Yeah, I really don't know what he's thinking.  It seems obvious that staying his senior year would be so much better for all parties involved.  Honestly, he's just not ready.  We need him another year, and just think of all the growing he'll still be able to do.  Who knows how things will look after another year in college, but (and I say this with all the love in the world for Trent) frankly I wouldn't draft him if I were an NBA GM.  STAY, Trent!  STAY!

Who knows, though.  I'll support and root for him either way.

Now Cummard does the same. I think Cummard is less ready for the NBA today than Plaisted is.

My guess is that both come back. Neither would be a first round pick with all those blue chippers out there, and Cummard might be lucky to even be drafted at this point.

We'll see.
