Chris Chelios has been playing at a high level for a long time. He's not the minute eater that he once was, but it is really a testament to his hard work and dedication that he can still be playing at this level at his age. I've never been a fan of any team he's played on, but even if you don't like the guy you absolutely have to respect the longevity and consistency he has demonstrated throughout his career. He can still contribute in his own end even though his offensive numbers aren't what they once were. It's not as if he's dead weight being kept around because of his legacy.

Here's to another 5 years!

Ok, ok....5 years isn't going to happen, but he has already exceeded the average NHL players life expectancy by almost 10 years. Absolutely amazing.

Patrick Kane thinks (knows) you're a dirty-old-man Chelios.

Chelios is washed up and way past his prime, he needs to step aside and pass the torch to Zetterburg and Datsyuk. He's just hanging around trying to pickup longevity records, quite sad really. Go Av's

Hit the nail on the head my friend.  Most players are out of hockey in their mid thirties, Chelios contiues to play like the energizer bunny.
