I myself, think he will be.
Strengths- He can handle the ball, plays excellent defense, super strong body, makes the open shot, one hell of a will to win
Weakness- Height, he is not a point guard.
Barring injury I gotta think this guy makes it in the NBA and has a long career. Thanks for being a rebel Wink, you are one tough SOB. Vinny "the microwave" Johnson comes to mind.

I completely agree with you LVSooner. I think he has tremendous potential and he is willing to take the big shot when it counts. I think he will definitly be drafted either late 1st round or early 2nd. I wonder if we will see Terry's name come up on NBA draft boards this year. I know that broadcaster on The Mountain or CSTV said he is going to the NBA but I'm not too sure if he will. I hope he does make it on a team and having Jason as his brother will help but I wonder how it all will play out.

I'm hoping for a big senior season from Wink to discount the negative effect about his size. We all know he has talent, and will be playing somewhere after his rebel career. A big senior year will be a plus. 20 ppg is not unreasonable if he continues to hit his fade jumper, drive on the basket and shoot his foul shots at 85%. Pop a couple of 3's each game and 20 is very do-able.

I agree with the C Terry comment, I do hope this guy makes it, he has been such a huge contributor to this program and it's return.
I don't know if we need Wink to avg 20 ppg. I do know that if he has to take advantage of a match up he can hang 25-30 on any given night. Your right on with that little fade and making free throws, a couple 3's and there is your 20 plus.

It was amazing what he did against Kansas. Driving, scoring, getting fouled. Wink also has the benefit of getting late points in close games. We always put the ball in his hands to get fouled late in the game. He had a few games where he picked up another 6 points due to that. Its not that we need Wink to score 20, as we have added offense. I'd just like to se him get it, have a great year, and get a lot of recognition in his last season. He deserves it!

I think Wink as small but look at Chris Paul. He is a monster is only a 6 footer. Wink is even bigger (by about 20 pounds or so). I'm not saying that Wink is even close to CP3. I know CP3 is a point guard that happens to know how to score (like a motha) with like 10 assists everygame, but Wink can definitely be a scorer in the NBA and play some tenacious D. I think, without a great Sr. season, he will definitely be a second rounder. But if he does, as some of the message boarders have said, score 20 ppg and do some good work in the NCAA tournament, he could be pushed into the later first round. Either way, he is a stud in college and have contributed much to the Runnin Rebs. For that I am thankful and hope for another season of a "big man" effort from him.

I think winks biggest strenght is his strenght in driving the hole. He really showed his talent against Kansas this year, and he will play in the NBA.

If Wink can improve his ball handling and passing skills, he'll become a good NBA player. He reminds me a little of Jameer Nelson of Orlando (who played his college ball at St. Joseph's). He's not very tall, but he's built like a tank, and has a nose for the basket.
Going back a little further, he's kind of like a pair of former Pistons guards (Joe Dumars and Vinnie Johnson). They weren't very tall, but they could both score and defend (both stregnths of Wink).

I don't think he will be a first-rounder. Definitely a second though, unless he just explodes for 25 a game next season. He is everything you guys said...but you can't teach height. His only shot to stick is to be like Allen Iverson. It's possible though.

He definitely play point in the NBA. A lot of point guards in the NBA didn't t= play the point in college. Look at Derron Williams. As long as you can penetrate effectively you can get assists in the NBA. He has the on ball defense, the strength, and the attitude. I don't think he'll be a first rounder unless he shoots a better percentage from long range. He doesn' | |
