He could have a huge impact on team next year. He is potentally better than both Hakim and Nichols. Donte Stay one more year and get drafted higher. Go Orange!

Demetris Nichols does not possess anywhere near the amount of talent Donte has. And you could care less about him??? I think a Final Four and possibly a championship should be something a Cuse fan would care about and those are out the window without Donte on next years team.

Now that he's shown that he doesn't care about the team and only cares about himself. He can go, but in a couple of years when were holding up the national championship trophy, he can sit at home and watch. Good luck on the bench in the NBA Donte.

If Nichols shot as much as Donte did he would have averaged over 20 points per.  Hakim is by far better than Donte at this point, and I think he will always be better.

Devofan, Demetris did average near 20 his Senior year, 18.9 to be exact. He put up 503 FGA that year. This season Donte Greene put up 521. Thats shooting "as much as Donte did" and he averaged 1 point more. Needless to say if Donte were to stay til his senior year his number would blow away those of Demetris Nichols. These numbers were both accumulated in 35 games for both so the stats are very comparable.

As for him comparing to Hakim, Hakim had a tremendous college career for Syracuse so no Donte will never be as good for Syracuse. As for an NBA career Donte will no doubtedly have a better career. There is virtually nothing to base this on as of yet but we shall see.

After Gasol was traded, Warrick did great with some real playing time.  If you look at his stats in the "per 48 minutes" category, you will see how incredibly productive he can be. I'm sure plenty of people took notice, and Hakim will have a really nice career ahead of him.  Donte has so many question marks right now, I'm not sure he'll ever get some real playing time.

We all knew the deal with Donte. He was more than likely going to be one and done. He's probably just as sorry as we are that it didn't work out better. Even if its only becuase his draft stock would be higher. Its ridiculous to trash the kid now.

I hope he does well in the NBA. I want Syracuse to stay an attractive option for top 10 type recruits coming out of High School. The type of place where they can come in, start right away, compete for a National Title, and go on to their NBA Dream with the full support of the Syracuse fan base.

I'm still hoping Donte decides he could benifit from one more year in school, but to be honest, I'm not sure how much he would really improve his Draft Position if he did come back. I just want him to for my own selfish reasons.

Everyone knows He's not ready for the NBA, But a team will still draft him because he has so much potential.

I Don't know how much Greene's game would improve if he played another year at Syracuse, Or how much his numbers might suffer  with having Devo and Rautins healthy. But one thing is for sure, There are a lot of talented players in this years draft, that are a lot closer to being NBA ready than Donte. I think he would stand out a little more in next year's draft, And could be a top 5 or a top10 pick next year.

I  would like him to come back for selfish reasons as well. But at the same time, I would never bash him for leaving.

IMO, It kind of makes Syacuse fans look bad when they rip him on the way out.

Goat, actually I agree with you about the shots part, but Donte took way more 3 pt field goals than Nichols did. He should have averaged at least 10-12 more points thatn Nichols did, to prove that he was better than Nichols. Which he didn't because he averaged 1 less point per game.

I don't know about Warrick though, he seems like he's productive as another poster mentioned. I think they'll both have good careers though. Who really cares about how good they do outside of here ? We have Anthony to brag about.
