Colt Brennan is an undersized quarterback, but the real reason he hasn't been drafted is because of his throwing mechanics. He throws side armed and NFL coaches hate that so that is the main reason everyone is passing on him. Another thing is that horrendous performance he put up against Georgia in that bowl game. That made his stock what little bit of it he had sink to the point that no one will want to pick him up. There was speculation about Vince Young a couple of years ago about his side arm motion hurting his draft, but he has good athlethism so they opted to draft him and just fix his throwing motion. With Brennan, and I am not bashing the WAC conference by saying this but the WAC is not the same as the BiG East, SEC, ACC, or PAC 10. So that will be one reason he will be overlooked as well. It was kind of like Zabransky for the Boise State Broncos last year. He is head in shoulders better than Brennan is in my opinion and he didn't even get drafted. So the chances of him being drafted are really low, but like tcpokerrun said he will probably be an undrafted Free Agent and then some team might can work with him on his throwing motion without having to invest much money or a draft pick.

Apparently the mechanics of a throw are really important.  I agree that the UGA game definitely hurt Brennan a lot, but the scouts might have overlooked that if there weren't the mechanics issues.  I'm surprised that Woodson from UK still hasn't been picked as of the mid. 6th round.  I'm sure he'll make a team somewhere, he put up good numbers against good competition in college and he's big and strong.

Seems like the teams are weird about not wanting to pick a QB if they aren't hyped by the scouts.  I'm not saying either of those will end up being awesome in the NFL, but they're good enough to at least make a team as a backup.

Colbymon, as a Giants fan, I hope you get your wish.  If you want, feel free to take Butler off of our roster to replace Roy Williams (you can keep the hog-tyer).

Colt Brennan just isnt a good quarterback, he holds a lot of records because he plays in the WAC who is known for their offense and the lack of defense.  And Hawaii probably throws more then any other team, and thats not because they have Brennan I believe the quarterback that was there before brennan also held a couple passing records, and he was no one.  Also Brennans touchdown to interception ratio was less then stellar.

Like BleedinBlue1 said, he is basically just a system quarterback out of Hawaii. They play a successful offensive system in a weaker conference and they never run. Timmy Chang (the quarterback before him) had all kinds of NCAA records (which I think Brennan has since beaten) and is now playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. He is their backup quarterback.

I am not going to defend the WAC but you can't bash his TD to INT ration when he threw 131 TDs in three seasons with just 42 INTs. That's better than a 3:1 ratio. He also completed over 70% of his passes throughout his career and holds the record for Accuracy in a career/season, QB rating in a season, and TDs in a career/season. Once again, I am not saying the WAC is good competition but ask Arizona State what they think about him after he lit them up going 33/42 for 559 yards and 5 TDs.

To everyone that says he is "just" a WAC QB, please remember that he was with Colorado in the Big 12 but got in trouble and xfered to Haw.  He could/would have put up some good numbers there too, not as good because of the system, but decent.  Teams passed as many others have said...he has a questionable throwing motion.
