Great?

The point of these articles is not to suggest that all of these players are going to be superstars in the league. They're simply trying to point out the methods to the madness. Which teams were able to fill thier biggest needs and still get the best "potential" players that are available at the time of the selection, the best "potential" players for thier offensive and defensive schemes, and how the team manuevers through the draft via trades to pay the right price for the player they want to select.

Did the Chiefs do this better than the rest? The media certainly thinks so. However, I'd argue that it's difficult to have a poor draft when you have that many picks to play with.

I like the article because it doesn't simply hype up the Chiefs for a solid draft, but it also gives an inside perspective to how the selections were made. That's pretty cool.

I can't recall a single player who ever played a down in the NFL prior to be drafted, so that point is in itself pointless.

Wait for it... there will be articles on rookie performances throughout the season. I'd be willing to bet by Week 9 we see the one stating who this year's Colston is, who the biggest disappointments are, and who we all should have known would have been injured and out for the season.

There will be an article three years from now to tell us who's a bust and who's a pro-bowler. There will be articles throughout the years to come that compare the players from this draft class to one another. There will be articles comparing this draft class to other draft classes. There will be articles breaking down performances by position, and then the follow-up articles that compare those positions to other draft classes. There may even be an article that performs a mock re-draft years from now based on "if we knew then what we know now" how would have the draft really unfolded.

The NFL draft is a 365 day a year media event that simply has the stories recycle themselves year in and year out. Up next we'll learn who missed mini-camp. In June, we'll find out which veterans are getting cut or traded because of the rookies come in to replace them. In July, we'll read all about the potential contract disputes and hear about the likelihood of players reporting to training camp on time.

I really wonder if there is a NFL public relations department that works with the media to "fix" certain situations with teams. For example, last week ChiefsNation was in an uproar over losing Jared Allen. The front office was taking a lot of heat for not getting a deal worked out. It sounded something like "Fire Carl Peterson's Dumb AS$!!" Jared was the absolute "fan favorite" in Kansas City, and for good reason.

But, now all you read about the Chiefs is this unbelievable draft. I agree, it was a grand slam of a draft. The first three picks have Pro-Bowl potential. But, I'm just saying it seems a little "funny" how much the media is amping it up, like the Chiefs organization needs a positive story right now.

Nice point dsoutee.  I never thought of that but that would help keep interest in KC and most likely othert teams fans who want to see KC fail because they are getting all this extra hype.

Im a Chiefs fan, and honestly I feel the same way. None of these guys have played yet.

This article was more (to me anyway) of the inner workings of the draft. I found it interesting on that level, and that level alone. To see who tried to move up, what team your trying to get ahead of, scouting reports, and the such.

I looked at it in that light instead of another article of how great the Chiefs draft was.
