Joe Lunardi has already posted a bracketology page at espn.com. He predicts that Kentucky will be a 6 seed. I think this may be a shock to some fans based on their comments about this season being no different than last season. If everyone stays healthy I think this could be good team that could make a run. I said this last offseason but we never had everyone healthy. Go Cats!!!

I've posted on this board for the last three seasons that we won't have successful seasons until we have the correct formula on the floor.  Defensively we were solid under Tubs and in my opinion we are even better defensively under BCG.

Offensively is where we have lacked.  We have only been able to put three scoring threats on the floor at any one point in time and we needed bench production.  Think about it, Bobby Perry could have games where he lit it up but he gave us 20 or he gave us nothing, you had Bradley, Crawford, and Morris.  Let's face it Bradley and Crawford were not the same players their first three seasons as they were last season.  We really got no production from the 1 or the 4 (Perry would have been a better 3 than a four in my opinion as well).  Our bench had Thomas, Orbzut, and I don't even remember who else coming off the bench but we got virtually no production from the bench (outside of Meeks that is).

So we move to last season, we all know about the injuries but the problem was the same.  You had Pat, Crawford, and Bradley with even less coming from the 2 and 4 and nothing off of the bench.  Stevenson learned how to play at the very end of the season which gave us another option.

So we move to next season, is that problem fixed or is it still there.

PG - we are going to get very little point production out of the point. 4 PPG

SG - Meeks should be able to carry his need here. 12 to 15 per game

SF - Miller should be able to carry his need here. 8 to 10 per game

PF - Pat (nothing needs to be said) 16 to 18 PPG

C - Harrellson, we should be able to get 8 to 10 a game from him

If we do this, we have 48 to 57 PPG out of our starters.

Now our bench is Stevenson 6 to 8 PPG, Liggins - 4 PPG, Galloway - 4 PPG, Harris - 2 PPG and all else -  anything else is a bonus.

That gives us about 16 to 18 PPG off of the bench.

That puts us at 64 to 66 PPG against the good teams and 73 to 75 PPG against the not so good teams.  The way we play D will give us alot better team than we had last season.

Will it be good enough to win the NCAA championship, I don't think so.  We will be competitive in the SEC (could win either of the titles), ranked at points in the season, and a sweet 16 appearance should be considered sufficient improvement.

It will be a quality season with the potential for upside if Miller and Harrellson can really bring it.  We know Pat and Meeks can.

Always, that was a well thought-out and realistic post.  Although I'm not happy to feel the way I do, I'm glad I'm not crazy for still having some doubts about next year.  I mean come on, Bradley and Crawford led us in every game, so the only returning offensive threat is Patterson whose health might not even be 100% reliable.  Talent is coming yes, and the defense is excellent so I don't see a repeat of the terrible non-conference performance.  But being top 25 might be tough.

It really depends on if meeks comes back healthy which i hope he does.  If so UK can contend with florida for the SEC crown and I think will fall somewhere in the 4-6 seed range.  If he can't stay healthy, then next year could be very similar to this year.

and i hate to admit it big_blue_always, but florida is gonna be stocked full of talent next year.  They finish no worse than 2nd in the east i fear.

Ramello,

I don't care if they start or not.  As BCG proved this season, just because you start doesn't mean you get the most minutes.  I just see these guys being the guys who can bring it.

I went and looked at some vids today of our incoming guys and future guys.  These guys can ball.

Also, I really hope Harris and Stevenson bring us 10 and 5 apiece.  Nothing would make me happier.

As for the talent level, UF will be stocked but I really think we will be competitive.

UF may be stocked, but I think we will be fine too. Its going to be a race between us, Florida, and Tennessee.

always true blue

well.....we dontknow if the line up is going to be that way...i dont think it will be

perry is the playing 4 right now , and harris has been the starting 3

those guys will have to be disproven if those rookies are gonna be starting

who knows if they have it or not.....

players rarely become starters and then come off the bench later in thier career.
