19.South Florida: Ranked No. 2 at one point, the Bulls slumped, finishing 5-4. If the Bulls make it to Dec. 6 in the Big East title hunt, it will be a good year. The regular season ends that day at West Virginia. Most of the offense is back. The defense still has All-American defensive end George Selvie. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but hasn't USF beaten West Virginia the last 2 seasons?  Now they lost their coach and he expects that to change this season?  Don't count on that one DODD!!!!!

What does the bowl game have to do with head to head competition against conference foes who seems to have your number?  Yeah, USF lost to a pretty talented Oregon team but that doesn't take away from the FACT that they have WVU's number!!!!

USF doesnt have WVU's number they had RR's number. This is not a lash b/c of everything that has happened, its what ive said since the loss 2 years ago. They had a different type of scheme and speed that shut down the offense not to mention the turn overs from slaton last year. What hurt WVU was RR's failure to adjust because his idea of a passing game was the "infamous" bubble screen. Had he opened up the offense i believe the outcome would have been different.

Even in the games that have been won there were never any adjustments. You can go back to the Sugar Bowl against UGA. WVU simply outplayed them early and no adjustments were made throughout the game. If you dont agree simply watch WVU play. Only one game will need to be watched because the others are simply the same. The only time the middle of the field was utilized was when Bill Stewart allowed the O-coord. to call a different type of game against OU. And well all seen what happened then.

For some of you WVU fans it always goes back to Rodriguez sucked!!!!  When this assistant coach experiment flops you will miss RR.  Maybe, just maybe, RR didn't have the confidence in the converted QB to go out and pass for 400 yards per game instead of him being to stupid/stubborn to run a different pass play!!!!

tampabaybishop,

Apparently you didn't hear about the Fiesta Bowl.  WVU could have quit before the game, in fact 86% of the nation and every state except West Virginia figured they would.  Instead, they beat the #4 team in the nation (favored by three touchdowns) BY three touchdowns.  This is a testament to the character of the athletes themselves as well as their leader, Coach Bill Stewart.

You seem to be hoping and praying that this is a fluke.  Make no mistake about it, it isn't.  WVU will have some weaknesses this year, notably an entirely new secondary and lack of depth in some key spots.  However, since USF graduated two of the best cornerbacks in the conference, the new, more balanced WVU attack (assembled by Coach Stew and the best assistant staff in the country) should result in a victory this year.

So, have some respect, and good luck with your OOC schedule this year!
