http://www.nba.com/raptors/news/chuck_050608.html

the best announcer in the nba is gone. no more chuck swirsky and as a raptor fan i am very disappointed, chuck has always been very optimistic and he is the voice of the Raptors, i think the organization should do something to honor this man for all of his great work for this team. also i dont know how i`m going to be able to watch raptors games listening to just leo rautins.

I'm sure CS is a 'great guy' and all that, and I wish him the best. That said, I'm glad to see him gone. He possesses one on the most annoying enunciations in pro sports (next to the Fan590's Mike Toth), his insights are pedestrian (like Toth's!), and who really wants to hear anymore lame, good-natured tag-lines such as "you gotta be kidding me' or 'bring on the salami and cheese'? See ya!

Speaking of Mike Toth.... i Cannot stand this guy, he ruins every show he goes on. Exhibit A: While listening to "The Bullpen on the Fan590" this morning, Toth would not stop talking about how he wears makeup on the tv side of sportscentre... And when he fills in for the Bobcat... ugh.... Anyways just venting.

umm, i personally would have liked to have him here for years. He was very entertaining, he did a great job and he will be sorely missed by many Torontonians. He brought a certain energy to every game i could never get sick of all his sayings. Next season might be a bit boring, I was hoping Chuck could be the kinda guy that spends his whole career with the team...

Any word on his replacements? Leo and Jack  arent the number 1 guy, so they cant takeover...

Then here is one of my favorite 'boring good natured sayings' from Chuck - "That's why there is chocolate and vanilla"... Yeeesh!

Toth is horrible - whenever he is on I turn the station. Sounds like a little boy with a chocolate milk in front of him, mispronouncing anything with a 'T-H' sound (the = da, them = dem, etc). Drives me nuts.

Doug Smith seems to think that the guy doing the Sonics games might be someone who could move here for the long haul.

He was let go when the team announced the move.  I have heard really good things about the guy... wish I could remember his name...  I think he is on thier team site for Wikipedia
