HOUSTON -- Houston Rockets guard Tracy McGrady had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder and left knee on Tuesday.

Dr. Tom Clanton, the team physician, told the Houston Chronicle that no structural damage was found in the ligament or cartilage of McGrady's knee. Loose particles were removed from both the knee and the shoulder.

The newspaper said Dr. Hussein Elkhousy repaired a slight labrum tear on McGrady's shoulder.

Team spokesman Nelson Luis confirmed the surgeries to the Associated Press on Tuesday night.

Guy's a champ for sticking around with the team to try to take us through the playoffs when he could of done what plenty of players did this season: Dwayne Wade and Shawn Marion come to mind and shut it down.  Hopefully he doesn't miss significant time next season, the Rockets need a good start next year.

First off you got to thank the guy for pushing through to the end of the season.  That is the kind of stuff young players like Carl Landry wanna see from their superstars.  I kinda wonder if Tracy McGrady pushed through just to show commitment to the team so a guy like Landry would comeback next season.  Great leadership McGrady!

I watched the 10pm new last night and Bob Allen said that McGrady should be able to start rehab in a couple of weeks and he should be able to be playing in 3 months.  So I figure he will be ready for the start of next season.  Does anyone know if McGrady has had any surgeries before?  I have googled around but can find anything.  It would be nice to know how he has come back the following season after having a surgery if he has had any.

This is great news Yao McGrady and yes im saying it Steve Francis will be healthy and strong for next year. I honestly see Francis making a believer out of all the people thats doubting him and saying that he is done.

I dont think McGrady has had any surgeries back in the days. The only thing i know from then till now is that he has added more muscle to his body and has gotten slower from his orlando days.  I see the Rockets next year being a very dangerous team but they need to get taller. This is a VERY VERY VERY UNDER-SIZED TEAM......

Having Yao back will do wonders for the reboundings and let Scola and Landry do their thing.  I cant wait for this team next year, I just hope Alston can keep up his good play and the rookies keep getting better.  I just want them to resign Carl Landry and not let him get away

I personally think we don't need any major changes Yes I would Love to see Ron Artest in Red and White but with the team we have right now healthy all at the same time could really do damage to the Western conference next year, and by the way where in the hell is Gerald Green ???

We released Gerald Green niner, as for Ron Artest I don't like his personal choices that seem to cause a lot of problems along with the fighting fans and all that I just don't like how he handles things.  We released gerald green and got Mike Harris so im ok with that, the guy looks promising.

Who do you guys think we need to go and get to help Yao and take his place if (and I hope that doesn't happned )he gets hurt. There are still a few good big men on there with some good playoff experience.

I would play yao less.  Even if it is 1 min less per quarter, Yao needs some rest because his body wears down
