I decided to go check out how Milton Bradley is doing.  This is a guy who could play centerfield or left field. Is only 30 years old and is an awesome talent.

He currently backs up in center field and left field with the Texas Rangers and also hits in the desgnated hitter position for them.

In 29 games he is hiting 0.305. He has slugging percentage of 0.476 and 3 homre runs with an on base percentage of 0.398. He is basicaly a team leader for the Rangers and they stole him from us for only 5 million a year which we did not match.  But hey we did trade for Edmonds who is like almost 8 million a year.

I kind of feel like whoever we bring into san diego will magically slump. We are kind of a black hole when it comes to hitting.

Well, I've watched my Padres make these kinds of truly brilliant personell moves for 40 years.

Doesn't seem to matter who the GM or owner is. Once they hook up with the Pads...They throw their brains out with the garbage.

Speaking of Milton Bradley. There was a fight recently between the Ranges and the Mariners.  Guess who started the fight?  If you guessed Bradley uou were wrong. Guess who was playing peacemaker?  If you guessed Bradley you are right. You can find vidoe of him pulling the Rangers catcher Laird out of the fighting fray.  Ok not pulling, it was more like lifting him up.  Bradely kept a level head during a team fight. Imagine that.

If you guessed Milton Bradley you would be wrong. In fact, Milton played peacemaker and was seen lifting one of his fellow players out of the fray (Catcher Laird)

I miss Milton. The Padres might be the most boring team in baseball to watch. At least Milton kept things interesting.

I will forever be a Padres fan no matter how bad or good they are doing. That said I think that they did the right thing by not signing M Bradley during the last off-season and here is why. He allowed himself to completely lose his self-control which led to him getting injured at the end of the year and possably costing the Padres a spot in the playoffs. We did not need his cancerous attitude in the locker room. I have to laugh when I read that "he is a team leader" on the Rangers. You  can see how well they are doing because of his "leadership". Just about the same position as the Pads. The release of Edmonds is a good start to trying to plug the leak in the season but it cannot end there. I have heard rumors about a possible trade with the Cubs involving Greene and Pie. I don't like the idea because although we would be upgrading in the outfield we would be taking a fairly big hit at shortstop. I am afraid that the 22 inning game has mentally taken the Pads out of the game. Hopefully they can turn it around but it sure looks bad right now.

PADRES FOR LIFE!!!!

let me tell you this pads.... the way that things are going right now we could use a cancerous attitude in the Padres locker room... ANYTHING to wake these hitters up... This is a professional team and all of our hitter except gonzo and kouz look like they belong in AAA or even lower... this is a sad excuse for a team
