According to a poster representing himself as Plaisted's brother-in-law on cougarblue.com , Plaisted signed with an agent today, barring his return to BYU.

Most of us thought he would return, and looked forward to a match-up with he and Beas.

Oh well, we'll just take our 2009 MWC championship trophy now.

I agree BYU is going to miss the big lefty, but the young big's they were bringing off the bench seemed more athletic than TP. I guess he is figuring if he can get drafted in the 1st or 2nd round it's time to go. It will be interesting to see what actually happens to this guy, I don't see him getting playing time with his limited skills. Can he be as good as Darko the former Pistons 1st rounder now with Orlando.

c-hoop you are the man, where do you find these interesting little tidbits all the time.

Go REBELS!

Its pretty simple. I have a bunch of sports related sites on "my favorites". A few times a day I'll click on all 8 or 10 of them to see if there is anything new. It takes less than a minute to check each site. So, for about a half an hour's time each day, you can stay up to date. This particular one was from the rivals public board. I keep SDSU, BYU, Utah & UNM sites on the fav along with UNLV, CBS, Rivals, Rebelnation, ESPN, SI & Fox Sports. Just surf the headlines and read when something interests you. When I mention the MWC schools, I look at the athletic sites from the schools, not the CBS sites. They are very quiet.

lvsooner-

I have them saved to go straight to College Basketball on  ESPN, SI, Fox Sports and other sites so you don't have to do extra "clicking".

I'm a little surprised to see Plaisted leave. Next years crop of underclassman doesn't look as big as this years. I thought he would try to improve his game to be a first rounder next year.

c-hoop,

You should seriously consider doing some work for the RJ, they just don't have a clue. When I was younger I remember them offering some part time work for high school sports and such. Not that you need the work, but the Rebel fans could really use some decent info and you seem to provide it along with a few others here. Thanks again as always, you da man.

I still think TP is making a mistake, but if someone wants to pay you to play hoops, then any young man should go for it. I just hope he is getting good information.

Its pretty dicy for him. The last projection I saw had him go 54th to Utah. If you're that low, and you can't guarantee getting selected, you better have made your mind up to be living outside the USA to make money in basketball. The NBA D-League pays poverty level wages, and he has family.

Thanks for the information c-hoop.  I'm going to reserve judgement on this until we know for sure.  As we all know, and as BYU Backer found out, the internet blogs aren't always the best place for information.  I am, however, one to believe that where there's smoke, there's fire.

Doesen't matter to me either way, UNLV is going to win the MWC regular season and MWC Tourney with or without Plaisted playing for BYUI and there was nothing the rest of the conference can do about it and I think Plaisted new that Beas was going to own him like a pair of dirty socks. I;m sure he didn't want to take that beating from Beas 3 times next year either.

Right now I'm about 90% sure. It comes from a BYU site, and purportedly by his sisters husband. It would have to be refuted quickly by other BYU people if not true.
