Beltran dropped to fifth in lineup: New York manager Jerry Manuel moved streaking Carlos Delgado up to the cleanup spot Wednesday against the Phillies and dropped Carlos Beltran to fifth. It was the first time Beltran batted fifth since June 15, 2003, with Kansas City. He responded by going 1-for-3 with one RBI and one walk Wednesday. (Updated 07/23/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Beltran has been great as of late for the Mets, hitting safely in seven of eight games. He also has one homer and seven RBI in that span. The move to fifth is primarily to get Delgado's hot bat higher in the lineup. Beltran could easily move back to a cleanup hitter in the coming weeks, if not days. He still remains a must-start Fantasy OF as long as he is getting at-bats in the middle of the lineup. (Updated 07/23/2008).
