Miner optioned down, Lopez up: Tigers RP Zach Miner was optioned to Toledo on Wednesday and right-hander Aquilino Lopez was recalled from the Triple-A club. The move came after Miner gave up a career-high four walks in two innings during Detroit's 6-4 loss to the Twins on Tuesday night. Lopez started the season with the Tigers but was optioned to Toledo June 15 and had a 2.45 ERA in three games. He was expected to be in uniform for Wednesday's game. (Updated 07/02/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Miner, 3-3 with a 4.43 ERA in 31 games with the Tigers, worked exclusively out of the bullpen this season but may start for the Mudhens, Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. "Zach will be back here. There's no doubt in my mind," Leyland said. "I don't want anybody to think I'm down on Zach Miner, because I'm not. I wanted to keep him here, but I think it's best for us and him to go work things out a little bit." Continue to ignore Miner in all formats, even when he's up with the Tigers. Lopez got off to a great start this season, but struggled in May and finally found himself in the minors. Ignore him in everything but the deepest of AL-only leagues that reward holds.
