Bruney expected to go back-to-back: Yankees RP Brian Bruney (right foot) is expected to pitch in consecutive games this week in his rehab stint with Triple-A Scranton-Wilkes Barre. (Updated 07/21/2008).
Once ready for a call-up, Bruney is nothing more than a low-end middle reliever for the deepest of AL-only leagues that use true middle men. Ignore him at this point. (Updated 07/21/2008).
Bruney started a rehab game for Double-A Trenton Monday, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning against Binghamton. He threw 15 pitches. (Updated 07/14/2008)
Advice
It was first thought Bruney would need season-ending surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right foot, but the right-hander opted to rehab the injury after consulting several specialists. Before Bruney twisted his foot April 22, he was 1-0 with one save and a 1.59 ERA.
