Maine survives two HRs for win: John Maine pitched seven effective innings and New York took advantage of a wild Brett Myers in his return from the minors during Wednesday's 6-3 win. Maine (9-7) gave up consecutive homers to Shane Victorino and Geoff Jenkins in the second, but kept Philadelphia in check most of the way. Jimmy Rollins tied it at 3 with an RBI double in the fifth, but the Mets took the lead for good with a three-run homer from Jose B. Reyes in the sixth. Maine yielded six hits, striking out five and walking two. (Updated 07/23/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Maine pitched only 19 innings over his previous four starts, going 0-2. He has allowed three or more runs in five straight starts, but he is finally back in the win column -- his first since June 25. The Mets are going to contend down the stretch and there will be ample opportunities for Maine to win games. He remains a high-end Fantasy SP. His next scheduled start is for Monday against the Marlins. He is on track to be a two-start pitcher Fantasy Week 18 (July 28-Aug. 3) with his second start coming against the Astros. Both starts are on the road where Maine is 4-6 with a 4.40 ERA this season. (Updated 07/23/2008).
