Nats' Dukes has knee surgery: Nationals outfielder Elijah Dukes underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday. Dukes, who is expected to be sidelined four to six weeks, had two small meniscus tears repaired by Dr. Koko Eaton in Tampa, Fla. Dukes was injured while making a catch against the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. He was placed on the 15-day DL on Tuesday. (Updated 07/09/2008).
Injury Report
Knee - 15-day DL. Out until at least late August (Updated - 7/8/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Dukes was streaking and this injury will now likely keep him out until the end of August and perhaps for the season. Consider him nothing more than a DL stashee in the deepest of leagues at this point. He should be a candidate to compete for a full-time job in the Nationals' outfield in spring 2009, though. (Updated 07/09/2008).
