Marlins get Meyer from A's: Left-hander Dan L. Meyer was claimed off waivers Monday by the Marlins after going 0-4 with an ERA of 7.48 in 11 games this year with the Oakland Athletics. He has played parts of three seasons in the majors with Atlanta and Oakland. He is 0-6 lifetime with an ERA of 7.63 in 19 games, including seven starts. Meyer was a first-round draft choice by the Atlanta Braves in 2002.
