Our initial rankings for 2009 had Volquez at No. 15 overall. There is a risk with taking him that high, especially since he pitches for a non-contender in a ballpark friendly to hitters.

The Reds announced Wednesday that Volquez, nursing a sore knee, will not make his scheduled start on Sunday, giving the nod instead to second-year lefthander Adam Pettyjohn. (Updated 09/25/2008)
