Gorzelanny not in Pirates' plans yet: The Sports Xchange reports that Pirates SP Tom Gorzelanny, who was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on July 5, is not a candidate to return to the major-league rotation at this time despite the Pirates having starting pitching problems. Gorzelanny was 6-7 with a 6.57 ERA in 17 starts for the Pirates and is still tied with LHP Paul Maholm for the team lead in victories. The Pirates want Gorzelanny to make at least three starts in the minor leagues before returning and he made his second Sunday. (Updated 07/21/2008).
Injury Report
No information available at this time (Updated 7/26/08).
Fantasy Analysis
Gorzelanny is likely to find his way back to Pittsburgh at some point in the second half, but with the way he was pitching before his demotion, he barely has any Fantasy value outside of the deepest NL-only formats. (Updated 07/21/2008).
