Johnson not the same guy lately: The Sports Xchange reports Orioles RHP Jim Johnson gave up a run for the third consecutive game Thursday, and his ERA has climbed from 1.14 to 2.13. The reliever, who has been used in the eighth inning setup role, gave up two runs in the eighth just two nights after he was saddled with his second loss of the season. (Updated 07/11/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Johnson had carved out a nice niche for himself with the Orioles. He can be viewed as a solid middle reliever for deeper Rotisserie leagues that use true middle men. His low ERA and decent strikeout and WHIP figures make him somewhat appealing. Still, with the entire Orioles bullpen struggling, consider sitting him for the time being. Mediocrity can be like an infectious disease and the O's bullpen should be quarantined. (Updated 07/11/2008).
