The left fielder missed Wednesday's game in Seattle, but manager Terry Francona had said earlier that he hoped Ramirez would be able to return for the start of the Yankees series at Fenway Park. That won't be the case. Fantasy owners in leagues that allow daily transactions should reserve him immediately. Fantasy owners in leagues that do not, should monitor him over the weekend. Manager Terry Francona said earlier in the day that he was hoping Ramirez would in the lineup, but also said he would ask the left fielder to let him know if he could not play. Ramirez was not immediately available for comment, but was seen in the clubhouse with a wrap around his knee. He also missed Wednesday's game in Seattle. Jacoby Ellsbury will start in left field.
