Rusch loses spot start vs. D-Backs: Rockies spot starter Glendon Rusch shut down the Diamondbacks for four innings Thursday before they broke loose in the fifth. Rusch had retired 11 straight batters before Mark Reynolds led off the inning with a double, and Chris Snyder put Arizona ahead 2-1 lead with his 11th homer. Chris Burke followed with his first homer of the season to make it 3-1. In all, Rusch would allow five runs on five hits over 4 2/3 innings. He walked two and had four strikeouts. His ERA sits at 5.54.

Fantasy Analysis

Rusch was moved up to pitch for injured SP Aaron Cook, who should hopefully be back by next week. He'd been pitching better of late for the Rockies and is in the rotation for the time being but remains just an NL-only quality starter. He'll get one start in Fantasy Week 21 (Aug. 18-24) and that will come on Wednesday or Thursday. Check back to find out exactly when he'll take the mound.
