Schmidt made his first rehab appearance for Class A Inland Empire on Sunday. He set down three hitters on 12 pitches. If all goes according to plan, he'll spend a month in the minors before the Dodgers return him to their rotation. Dodgers are a decent contender with a good deal of potential, but Schmidt will have to prove healthy after years of shoulder woes before he should be considered in Fantasy play. Schmidt, recovering from right shoulder surgery, hasn't appeared in a game since June 16. He went just 1-4 with a 6.31 ERA in six starts last season, and he probably won't be much better when healthy.
