M. Sweeney feels fine after running: The Sports Xchange reports that A's DH Mike Sweeney, who had arthroscopic surgery on both knees in June, ran for the first time on Saturday and he said it went well. Sweeney is eligible to come off the 60-day DL on July 28 and he said he expects to be ready or very close to ready at that point. The A's have lacked much right-handed threat with Frank Thomas (quadriceps) and Sweeney both out. (Updated 07/21/2008).
Injury Report
Knee - 15-day DL. Out until at least late July (Updated - 7/21/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Sweeney has pop in his bat, but he is nothing more than a reserve DH when healthy at this point in his career. Only stash him in deep AL Fantasy formats that have ample DL spots. (Updated 07/21/2008).

Advice
Sweeney underwent arthroscopic surgery on both knees on June 11 and was expected to miss four to six weeks. The injury appears to be keeping him out longer than expected, so continue to monitor the developments.
