DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies activated left-hander Jorge De La Rosa and placed shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday.
De La Rosa made his first start this season against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night. He gave up nine runs and nine hits in four innings of a 12-7 loss.
Tulowitzki tore a quadriceps muscle in his left leg Tuesday and could be sidelined until the All-Star break. The runner-up in NL Rookie of the Year voting last year, Tulowitzki struggled before getting injured. He was hitting .152 with one home run and 11 RBI in 26 games this season.
The Rockies got the 27-year-old De La Rosa from Kansas City on Wednesday to complete the March 27 trade for right-hander Ramon Ramirez. De La Rosa was 3-0 with a 1.64 ERA in four starts with Omaha, the Royals' Triple-A affiliate.
