Mets' Pagan day to day with bruised left shoulder

NEW YORK (AP) -Mets outfielder Angel Pagan is day to day with a bruised left shoulder after a rough stretch in New York's 12-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Team spokesman Jay Horwitz said Pagan saw Dr. Strun Coleman on Thursday. New York opens a weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night.

Pagan started in left field against the Dodgers and somersaulted into the first row of the box seats to grab Andre Ethier's foul fly in the first inning. He remained on the hard cement for a few anxious moments but returned to his position, rubbing his left shoulder and flashing a huge grin as the Dodger Stadium crowd of 40,696 applauded his effort.

Pagan left in the third with tightness in the shoulder after sliding headfirst into second with a stolen base.
