Young back in Rangers lineup

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -Rangers shortstop Michael Young was back in the lineup Friday night against Oakland after sitting out nearly two full games because of a left hip flexor injury.

Young, a four-time All-Star who has had five straight 200-hit seasons, missed Thursday night's game at Seattle after coming out of Wednesday night's game after only one inning.

"I feel great," Young said before the opener of a nine-game homestand. "It was still a little tight yesterday, but it was already way better than the night before. I was told that particular part of the body heals pretty quickly."

After another slow start this season, hitting only .196 in mid-April, Young had hit safely in 18 of his last 21 games going into Friday night's game and raised his average to .301.
