    News
Catcher Yadier Molina and manager Tony La Russa managed to see a few innings less of him than everyone else at Milwaukee Monday night. Molina and La Russa were ejected for arguing balls and strikes shortly after the second of Ryan Braun's two homers in the Brewers' 8-3 victory. Molina protested his ejection by taking off his gear and leaving it in a pile at the umpire's feet. "That was awesome," SP Adam Wainwright said. "If you're going to get tossed, you might as well make it a good one. That was one of the better ones I've seen."

    News
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that SS Cesar Izturis’ infield single in the seventh inning against Colorado Thursday extended his hitting streak to nine games. The streak began after he missed time with a bruised forearm. He said the break gave him a chance to recalibrate his swing. "I was struggling a lot of the time before it," he said. "I realized … what was working in the past and what work I had to do."

    News
Cardinals SP Braden Looper allowed two solo home runs to Ryan J. Braun Sunday and they were crucial mistakes in a 5-3 loss to the Brewers. Looper allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk in six innings, but was disappointed with his pitches to Braun. "I left two balls up to him and he essentially did what you're supposed to do with them," Looper said. "He made me pay." Milwaukee scored twice in the first inning before Braun's solo shots in the third and fifth. Looper struck out one in his second loss of the season.
