Has anyone else noticed that the Twins always play a Mother's Day game on ESPN?

Should he be benched or sent down if he doesn't start performing offensively or is it still too soon? Jacque Jones was just sent down by Detroit and he's making like 7 million this year. Kubel and Monroe are both hitting considerably better than Young right now.

Rumor Mill
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that if Jason Kubel gets his way, he'd take a long-term deal to stay with the Twins. "I'm trying to show them my legs are good and that I can be counted on for the entire season," said Kubel, who missed the entire 2005 season because of a knee injury but rebounded to appear in 128 games last year. "If I can get 500 at-bats and have a good year, hopefully that will put some pressure on (the Twins) to do something so I can stay here." Right now, 2010 is the last of Kubel's seasons the franchise controls before he becomes eligible for free agency and can negotiate. (updated: 04/21/2008)
