The latest word on Chone Figgins' return from a hamstring injury? "Almost."
Figgins participated in a full workout before Tuesday's game as a final test of his mildly strained right hamstring. He went through agility drills, ran the bases, took groundballs and hit in batting practice from both sides of the plate. If there are no ill effects from the workout, the Angels will activate him from the disabled list before Wednesday's game.
"He had a great workout. ... He got after it today," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "He came out of it great for now. We want to see exactly where he is tomorrow. But if everything goes well, we're looking at possibly having him tomorrow."
Figgins has been out since May 3. The Angels have gone 8-7 in his absence. After Tuesday's workout, Figgins said the only discomfort he was feeling was some soreness in his legs from the increased activity.
"Everything feels good," he said. "We'll see tomorrow."
Since Figgins' last start at third base (April 27), Angels third basemen are batting .205 (15-for-73) with three extra-base hits (a double by Maicer Izturis and one home run each by Brandon Wood and Robb Quinlan), five RBIs and 26 strikeouts.
ANGELS 3, BLUE JAYS 1: Right-hander John Lackey went seven innings and allowed only one run for the second time in as many starts since coming off the disabled list. Lackey got his first victory of the season despite some late-inning drama with relievers Scot Shields and Francisco Rodriguez on the mound. Shields and Rodriguez loaded the bases in the eighth and ninth innings before escaping trouble to end the Angels' four-game road losing streak.

word on the street is the tex is coming to then Angels for Quinlan and Wood. I like the trade personally but I would rather Kotchman then Tex. If we get Tex I think that will make Rivera expendable.
As a Twins fan and overall baseball fan, I can't help but look at the Angels lineup and wonder how it gets set up as it does. What I'm wondering is why H
"Rodriguez, who burst on the scene during the Angels' run to the 2002 World Series, is making $10 million this year and he might push $15-16 million in a free-agent deal. Just imagine what another big postseason would do for his leverage at the negotiating
Angels start the second half with an impressive sweep of the Redsox. Lets keep it going against the Indians. Game one Evin Santana against Paul Byrd on paper this looks good for us.
Well it was a great game last night for Jeff Mathis. He finally threw out a runner at second and went yard with the game winner. Can you believe the Halo's have gotten 17 combined home runs out of the cather position? Which raised my curiosity and I wanted to find out whether the fans prefereed Napoli or
