--LF Josh Willingham (lower back strain) took swings Friday at underhand pitches. He is eligible to be activated Tuesday but his return could come later.
--1B Mike Jacobs (strained left quad muscle) was available to pinch-hit Friday but he might not start until the Marlins go to Cincinnati on Monday.
--LHP Andrew Miller, who starts Saturday in Washington, seeks his second straight win after beating Greg Maddux and the Padres on Sunday. He has won two of his last three starts and hasn't lost a start since April 12.
--The Marlins arrive in Washington with the league's best road batting average (.285) and slugging percentage (.494). Their 22 road homers are second to Phillies (23).
